The Providence Public Schools team supports the education of Providence's youngest residents. The District serves over 19,000 students attending over 35 schools. PPSD employs more than 3,600 professionals who work in and provide support to our schools, which include 19 elementary schools, 7 middle schools, and 10 high schools. Of our employees, approximately 1,800 are educators, and more than 800 others directly support students and families in our schools.
Approximately 40% of PPSD students are multilingual learners, and about 17% of students receive special education services.
